Youth Scholarship Program

Youth Scholarship Program Information:

This year’s deadline for our Youth Scholarship program is March 31, 2017. As a reminder, we would like to let you know that all applications must be mailed via the U.S. Postal Service, and postmarked on or before midnight on March 31.

We would also like to remind everyone in the NWIHA community that the official mailing address for all things NWIHA has changed, so please send this year’s Youth Scholarship applications to the new address that is marked in bold at the bottom of this message.

To our 38 Voting Members: consider forwarding this to your Tribal school counselors, teachers, boy’s & girl’s clubs, churches, youth groups and other organizations working with Native American youth at your Tribe. Remind them that you, as one of our Voting Members, will be willing to provide the applicant the required letter on your letterhead, as one of the several requirements explained in detail on the application form. Moreover, please remind candidates in your community to download the application form and to follow the instructions that are clearly detailed on the form meticulously! To be considered for the NWIHA Youth Scholarship, candidates must be sure to complete the application form exactly as instructed and to provide every detail and associated materials the application form requires without exception!

Again, please make sure that all completed applications and application materials are packaged as detailed on the application form and sent to the following address:

Northwest Indian Housing Association

P.O. Box 603

Anacortes, WA 98221

Thank you,

“I will continue to remain engaged in leadership and advocacy as I think it is paramount that health care workers are politically engaged and advocate for the health status of populations that historically have poorer health outcomes. I am excited to see what changes my involvement in Aboriginal Health advocacy may incite! Once again, I wish to warmly thank the Northwest Indian Housing Association for your generosity.”
